1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing, accessing, or using Collaboration Tracker (the "Extension" and associated web services), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Extension.
2. Description of Service
Collaboration Tracker is a tool that allows users to:
- Log in securely using their Google Account (Google Sign-In) to verify identity.
- Authenticate via Google OAuth to grant read-only access to document metadata and revision history.
- Fetch contribution history from authorized Google Docs.
- View that data in a separate, user-configured viewer application (local or hosted).
- Optionally automate the fetching of revisions at set intervals.
3. Permitted Use and Google Compliance
Collaboration Tracker interacts directly with Google APIs. You agree to use the Extension only:
- On Google Docs and Google Drive files that you are explicitly authorized to access.
- In strict compliance with Google’s Terms of Service and Google API Services User Data Policy.
- In compliance with your employer’s, educational institution's, or organization’s internal data policies.
- In compliance with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws.
4. User Responsibilities
- Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Google Account login credentials. Collaboration Tracker relies on Google's secure authentication and does not see or store your passwords.
- Data Handling: You are solely responsible for where you send your document data (e.g., to a local machine or a hosted viewer) and for maintaining the security of the environment where the viewer operates.
- Misuse: You must not reverse-engineer the Extension, use it to bypass Google's security measures, or utilize it to extract personal or confidential information you do not have the right to view.
5. Disclaimers and No Warranty
The Extension is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Extension will function uninterrupted, be completely secure, or remain compatible with future updates to Google Docs, Google Drive, or Google APIs.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developers, owners, and contributors of Collaboration Tracker shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, unauthorized access to your documents, loss of revenue, or business interruption arising out of your use or inability to use the Extension.
7. Third-Party Services
Collaboration Tracker is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC. Your use of Google Docs and Google Drive is governed by Google’s own terms and policies.
8. Modifications to the Service and Terms
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Extension at any time, with or without notice. We may also revise these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the Extension after such changes indicates your acceptance of the new Terms.
9. Termination
You may terminate this agreement at any time by uninstalling the Extension and revoking its OAuth access in your Google Account security settings. We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your access to the Extension if you violate these Terms.
